Video Contests

Grab your phone, camera or whatever you prefer to use and get ready for the video competition. You can participate in two different categories: AMV/FMV and Cosplay video.

You can send in a maximum of three entries per category.

AMV/FMV

Show off your editing skills, using clips from your favourite fandoms!

There will be two awards given in this contest:
Shortform - videos under 1 minute in length.
Longform - videos from 1 to 3 minutes in length.

The judges will look at the level of editing skill, but also the overall narrative and impact of the video.

Rules:

• You can use video clips from one or multiple sources (movies, series, games etc).

• No entry may be above 3 minutes in length.

• Keep in mind that Banzaicon is a family friendly con and that very explicit video or audio content may not be shown.

• The video must be made originally for this contest. It may not have been uploaded to Youtube, TikTok, Instagram or other websites prior to being sent in to us.

COSPLAY VIDEO

Whether you enjoy making quick, snappy reels/tiktoks or full length CMV’s, this is the space for you!

There will be two awards given in this contest:
Shortform - videos under 1 minute in length.
Longform - videos from 1 to 3 minutes in length.

The judges will look at the quality of video, acting, lights, backgrounds, camera angles, editing and effects, as well as the overall concept, narrative and impact of your video. The quality/craftsmanship of your cosplay will not be judged, but how well your costume contributes to the video may affect scoring. 

Rules:

• You may have multiple cosplayers in your video, as long as everyone consents to be in the contest.

• If you enter with a duet, the cosplayer which you duetted MUST post in the comments of your video that they are ok with you using it for this contest. If not, we will not be able to consider it for an award.

• You may use any kind of costume, including bought or thrifted. OC’s and original designs are fine!

• No entry may be above 3 minutes in length.

• Keep in mind that Banzaicon is a family friendly con and that very explicit video or audio content may not be shown.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. Upload your video to either TikTok, YouTube or Instagram.

2. Make sure to mark your video with either hashtag #Banzaicon13 or put Banzaicon 13 in the title.

3. Send your videos to cosplay@banzaicon.no with the subject VIDEO CONTEST and remember to include your username and name the platform you have uploaded your video to. 

4. All entries must be in before midnight on Wednesday 8th of October.

SCREENING AND PRIZES

We will have a screening of all entries on Friday 10th (or a selection, if we receive very many).

The winners of each category will be announced at the award ceremony on Sunday.
